by GUYON

In order to prevent the gloom coming from the weather and the absence of daylight during weeks, the Norwegians use to have hobby : lace, reading, ski, music listening. These ones are an amateur folk dancing group. When we watched Norwegian TV we understood.... I danced with one of the women. What a strong grip !

'What to buy?' is always a most important question. Whether for yourself or for souvenirs for friends, each country has its specialties. In Norway look for: painted wooden figureens of fishermen, reindeer, etc. The knitwear is an excellent buy. There are always the whimsical little trolls and miniatures of the famous viking ships. Crystal, glassware and silverware are also featured.

Known as one of the four BIG writers in Norwegain 19th century history (together with Ibsen, Kielland and Lie) and won the Nobel Prize in litterature in 1903. I visited this place in August 2001, but unfortunately there was no guide working at that time.
