At Eidestranda is Mjøllageret Bar & Mat, Aure's best place to have a decent dinner out. Like similar places, Eidestranda is a complex of visitors' services, restaurant, local party place, accommodation and fish processing in a fairly old location with lots of atmosphere.
The restaurant Mjøllageret is decidedly seasonal, but remains open also off-season with albeit limited opening hours.
Very good sea food and local game (moose, red deer). The sea food depends on the day's catch, but some standard fixtures remain on the menu, always available.
Good access by road, boat and public transport (Trondheim-Orkanger-Aure).

Favorite Dish: I had excellent wolf fish last time I was there. Well recommended!

A wonderful and easily accessible vantage point, Litj-Fonna is a mountain with a 280 degree view of the fjords and the islands and the ocean south-west and north of Aure. You take a side road off the main highway (marker to Litj-Fonna) and pay at an unmanned toll booth near a fox farm (you can smell you are at the right place!) for access to Litj-Fonna road. The road goes to some radio equipment used by the oil industry there. Parking place for the general public. You can look around from right there or walk around, or even up to the main Fonna mountain, 45 mins.
