This is something I did not expect at Hell : Stonecarvings dating back more than 10.000 years and you can see them in the woods closeby the train-station, 15 min. to walk uphill. You will see rendeers and other animals that was really interesting and this place is in the open wood, not surrounded by a fence or so, so you can go there any time of the day.The path is partly a bit muddy and unfortunately the engravings are at a place, where you cannot get perfect pics without a ladder. by globetrott There are nice postcards from Hell, showing the trainstation and a red sky, and it is best to buy them in Trondheim already, togeather with the stamps, because in HELL you will find a postbox at the train-station but nothing else ! There is an inscription at this postbox telling you in norwegian, that this postbox will be emptied in a regular basis ! Walking to the real post-office in town will take about 30 minutes, if they have a postoffice at all and buying postcards of Hell there, I dont know if that is possible ! b.t.w. your postcards will not get any special postmark or cancellation that shows Hell on it, so you may post your cards in Trondheim or any other place as well. This town with a funny name is just 30 km from Trondheim and at the trainstation you will see the inscriptions : HELL and at another building there : Hell Gods Expedition it looks like a good joke, that god has an expedition sending bad people to hell, BUT in fact that means "packets delivery" or something similar -------------------- place-name signs are hard to be found in Hell, except maybe when you arrive by car. Leave a Comment Directions: Both buildings are directely at the trainstation, so you cannot miss them .

Hell Sagbruk is a sawmill where you will also find the name "HELL" in the inscription and it absolutely does not make sense to go there for anything else, unless you care for some pics with the name Hell on them. I had some minutes left before my train back to Trondheim arrived, that is why I took these pics. Leave a Comment Directions: Hell Sagbruk is next to the station, when you walk into the direction of Trondheim.

It was a nice walk through the woods not far from the trainstation of Hell and within 15 minutes you will get to see the stonecarvings dating back more than 10.000 years. You simply have to follow the signposts for "Helleristninger" that will lead you a bit uphill, through the village and finally through the woods. Leave a Comment

These are some photos of the coastline that you will go along by train, when going to Hell from Trondheim. Unfortunately the weather was not very good that day and it was raining most of the time. All fo these pics were made through the closed and wet windows of the train. Leave a Comment
