Bleik Travel Guide

In warm weather you can go swimming in the sea. It's very cold, so you have to run out in the water and rush back.
It' s also nice to just have a long walk on the beach. It's 3 km long with white sand. Exspecially in the middle of the night ithis is a wonderful walk watching the midnight sun.
Another activity is to go hiking in the mountains. it's quite stief in the beginning, but after a few hundred meters it's easy to walk. And what a view on the top!
You can also take a guided tour with a fishing bout. They take you out to have a look on a bird rock and the coastline. If you want you can try fishing.
10 km away is Andenes. Here's a whale museum and you can go out whale watching. Here's also a light fire. If you go all the steps to the top you'll have a wonderful view.

There is no restaurant in Bleik, just a local pub. You can by some light food there, but most locals and tourist bye beer or wine. It's like a museum with lots of old things from Bleik. If you want bye anything, you have to go inside to have a look. Last time I visited the pub, it was lots of people and we had a happy time there.
If you want to go to a restaurant you have to go to Andenes, 10 km away. I recomand the fish soup in a restaurant on the habor.

The best way to get to Bleik is by car. The bus from Andenes doesn't go very often. If it's too long to drive a car from home, the best way is to go by plane to Evenes ( Harstad/Narvik the airport is named ). Then the best thing to do is to rent a car. It's about 4 hours to drive from the airport to Bleik. You can also go by bus. It's a long journey, but lots of beautiful nature to watch.
I once had a spectulare journey to Bleik. At first I went by train to Bodø. Then I went by ship, "Hurtigruta", to Risøyhamn. It was a really beautiful trip along Lofoten. The ship made a stop in Trollfjorden. We passed Sortland in the middle of the night, standing outdoors watching the midnight sun. When you arrive Risøyhamn it's 4 o'clock in the morning. Hopefully you have ordered a taxi waiting for you.
