The mountain top, war museum and some photo ops!

As I have mentioned already on this page, the cable car to the mountain top. THE thing to do in Narvik!!

The war museum is interesting as well and should be included in your trip.

The iron ore dcks along the harbor are cool to check out and watch the trains coming in with ore - it is the whole reason narvik was created in the early 1900's.

For a great photo opportunity there is a road direction sign containing the direction and kilometers to many other european cities. Makes for a welcome addition to your scrapboks.

the narvik war museum. it highlights the part that the norwegian underground played during the second world war. quite a stark reminder of all that transpired within norway during nazi occupation.
this is a map which i think points to details of the first wave of attack by the germans....

Near the center of town is a signpost with many destinations. It gives you a good idea of how far you've come... and how far you have to go.

This is the local war memorial museum in the city centre. Here you can find and see some stories and information about Norway during the WWII.

There are so many wonderful small gems to be found in Narvik that you should really reserve at least one afternoon of sightseeing if you'd ask me.
