Ørje Travel Guide

We went to visit Kanalmuseet (Ørje, Norway) with high expectations and interest. But the museum turned out to be an absolute disappointment. It seemed so obvious that this museum is a victim of extreme neglect. The display was inadequate in just one small room with some meaningless junk. And that’s it. It looked like nobody takes care of it. Norwegian was the only language used in the text description in the museum, even though the visitors are mostly foreigners from many different countries like ourselves. It wasn’t worth 40 Norwegian crowns at all. The girl at the reception spoke only Norwegian, even though I spoke English to her, as if taking money is her only job there. In my country, people cannot get a job at the museum without a multilingual background and without proper education.
