Hogsfjorden

by Cristian_Uluru

When you reach the Preikestolen from Stavanger you must cross the nice Hogsfjorden by ferry. The fjord rappresent the beginning of the Ryfylke Region, on of the best of all Norway and a perfect starting point to discover the wonderful Lysefjord.

The last cable ferry in Norway + great recreation

by Rusket

Nisser is the largest lake in Telemark. The water is clean and the beaches are nice. There are a lot of campsites around the lake, and good possibilities for hiking and biking. There are a few winter sport centers close by, like Gautefall and Vrådal.Check my Nisser and Treungen pages for more info.

Drangedal, where I found my railway station

by Rusket

Since I bought my belowed railway station Brøsjø, I spend as much time as I can here. But there are other things to do, like fishing, hunting, fresh water bathing, biking, hiking, ..., ... Take a look at my Drangedal page to get more info. The picture is not from Brøsjø, but from Neslandsvatn, 4,5 km away, where the trains actually stop :-)

Fjord Crossing

by ant1606

The rugged and scenic coastline of Norway is famous for its fjords that are conveniently crossed by service ferries. Roads suddenly end at ferry terminals and in most cases the waiting time is not an issue. Traffic is scarce and ferries have enough room to board all vehicles. Fares are not that cheap but the alternate roads to get around fjords would otherwise raise cost and time.

Tired of E6? Divert over Ringebufjellet-Folldal

by Saagar

E6 can be a sort of nightmare through the Gudbrandsdal Valley north of Lillehammer during the height of the summer season. The road passes intermittently through small townships with restrictions on speed and the valley is long and gets quite boring after a while. Also, if you have already travelled through here once and wish for a change, this tip is for you:Coming from the south some kilometres past Ringebu, take a right where the road sign says No. 27 Venabu/Enden/Sollia/Atna. This road with the right maneouvering gets you back on E6 at Hjerkinn, the Dovre plateau. First it proceeds steeply past Venabygd community out of the Gudbrandsdal valley, then past a little mountain community called Venabu (nicely located hotel, wayfarers' shop) and into the open mountain landscape skirting southern Rondane mountains. At near the highest point you can get out of the car and climb Muen, a small...

Atlantic Islands

by McPee

The best known water trips are the Coastal Voyages which start in Bergen and go all of the way up to Kirkenes on the Russian border. If however you are in Bodo you can also use the high speed catamarrans which service outlying islands / communities. It is a great chance to see the wilder areas in the Arctic Circle. The boats are comfortable and double as post delivery / collection
