The old road over the mountain Strynefjell, is today a "National touristroad". Because of snow it is only open in summer.
The nature here is fantastic! And nearby glaciers fill the lake with turquise colored water. So beautiful!
Take care if you come here in late august. The first part of the road was great when we went driving here. But after a while the fog came creeping, and the view got worse and worse. Then came the snow. The more we went driving, the more snow in the road.
When we got to the summer-skisenter we had to turn around. With plenty of snow in the road and no view we were not quite sure what to do.
The summer-skisenter was closed for the season, but some workers told us that the road from there had much more snow and was a bit steep. Then the decision was easy... We turned around! ;)
Situated 900 meters above the sea. Alpine landscape, snowcapped mountains and breathtaking sceneries.
Nearby is a skiresort, and in summer you can also go skiing at nearby Strynefjellet.
