Aulestad The home of the famous author Bjornstjerne Bjornson and his wife Karoline. (Nobel Prize winner of Literature 1903) Bjornson is considered one of the grand four in Norwegian literature.
Aulestad is a must visit if one is in the area, guided tours on the site.
Kornhaug A very spectacular timber building in dragon style, raised in 1892 as a private home for a school teacher. It was later used as a tuberculosis sanatorium. Today Kornhaug is owned by a foundation and is the site of a the 'Kornhaug Norwegian Peace Center' and the 'Kornhaug Gjestegard' The Inn provides traditional Norwegian food in a 19th century atmosphere and accomodation.
