Who knew? The Skyssstasjon in Fagernes (across from the Quality Inn) is a wonderful restaurant serving freshly prepared breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sure, they serve hamburgers but try the thyme-roasted chicken. The 'good' food is written on the chalkboards above the counter.
They serve the best breakfast in Norway. Lovely omelets, and other things!

Leira is a small town just down the valley from Fagernes. It makes a good base for exploring the Stave Churches in the area. It is not really a destination in itself.
Went here twice during my time as a scout/venture scout and met up with local scouts in Leira to go skiing and to have a holiday. Fantastic. - More here soon........
