I took the passroads
I took the Sognefjellsvegen-passroad , that is road Nr. 55 from Sohnefjorden , a spectacular road with a great view on a clear and sunny day, some hotels are on the way, BUT these hotels are open only in the very high season, that means they might close already mid of August, when the ordinary school-vacations are over in Norway.
There was not a lot of trafic in the beginning of September, when I drove through there on a nasty and rainy day, BUT be prepared of extra-long or heavy vehicles as well using this passroad - see my main photo !
In some areas the road is just a single-track-road with passingplaces.
