Northern Gudbrandsdalen area is locally known for lack of intra-municipal collaboration and quarrelsome - or to be politically correct - vocal and argumentative people. For tourists, the main outcome is a confusion over what body is the official tourism authority and lack of complete information. The "warring" parties are carving up their respective territories...Sel-Rondane Reiselivslag is a private outfit that covers the northern Gudbrandsdal areas of Sel, Otta and the Rondane Mountains. Otta Turistkontor AS is the official body, with an office and information centre at the railwaystation at Otta. These two boduies have limited if any cooperation. Chance is that you will not be given helpful info about what the other group is offering, so cock an eye to the info you get from either bodies and be extra inquisitive here... Geographical info, transport info etc should still be quite ok.
