We tried to keep it as cheap as possible, so we went with Ryan Air from Oslo Torp to Frankfurt Hahn. Just note that the Torp Airport is about 2 hours (110 km) south of Oslo, which is quite a way!!
The Oslo airport Gardermoen is situated about 50 km north of the city and there are various ways to get from there to Oslo. Have a look at the website stated below!

Wow, we got it! We got an 1 cent flight to Oslo from Hahn and back. Yes, but without fees and taxes! So I booked 4 days in Oslo. With the airport Oslo Torp it is the same as with the airport Frankfurt Hahn. It is far away from Oslo, more than 100 km. But there is a bus transfer - 1h45 minutes to Oslo and other places in Norway. More infos about Torp express in the next tip.

Torp airport is not exactly near Oslo but about 120 km south near Sandefjord. Oslo's Gardermoen airport is bigger and closer (approx. 50 km north of the city).
The big advantage of Torp airport however, is that the low-fare-carrier Ryanair serves it from several destinations. Flights can be a real bargain. This made it the second-largest airport of Norway with more than a million passengers per year.
And don't worry about the transfer. There is a bus service in cooperation with Ryanair from the airport to Oslo. The transfer time is about 1h45min. The busses of the company Torp Expressen leave the airport 30 minutes after plane arrival.

There are many taxi companies operating to and from Oslo airport Gardermoen, and they all have different prices, depending on the time of day, ranging from 400 NOK to 1000 NOK for the same distance and time of day, so be warned. Do not hail a taxi outside...ask at the counter inside and choose your company and price first.
Example: Airport - city centre, weekdays, daytime:
Taxi 2: 395 NOK
Norgestaxi: 490 NOK
Oslo Taxi: 610 NOK
Asker og Barum: 550 NOK
Ovre Romerike Taxi: 740 NOK
City Taxi: only by meter, approx. 1000 NOK, but you can negotiate
According to the people who operate the counter there are about 30-40 fixed price schemes depending on time of day and company used...what a mess! Better take the airport train or bus instead:
Airport express train 150 NOK
Runs every 10, 20 or 30 mins depending on time of day, takes 20 mins
Local/regional trains 77 NOK, runs every half hour or so, takes 40 mins
Airport bus 110 NOK, runs every 20 mins, takes 40 mins, and btw for 170 NOK you get a return ticket that's valid for a month!

Every now and again there are great deals to go many places. Ryanair seems to know how to do this. Check their website regularly and you will come across the great deals that run from "now until midnight". Some are better than others. But it is worth a look.

You can charter a seaplane to get to or from Oslo fast. The seaplane harobur is located in the neigbouring municipality of Bærum, at the old Oslo airport Fornebu - Rolvstangen sea plane harbour.
You got to have some pocket money to be able to do this, though...
They also do Oslofjord sightseeing.

Was slightly concerned about using Ryan air as they were so cheap, but worries were unfounded, quick check in and the plane was the same as any other charter holiday plane. The seating policy could be better as its a case of who gets on first gets the best seats but who cares for the price you pay. Good coach link to Oslo it ties up with all ryan air flights. Cost 130kr each way.
