 | Oslo Flights and Airline Tips | 21 - 30 of 42 | | Flying in from Europe will give you a pleasant meeting with Norway. The 'new' (opened October 8th 1998) Oslo Airport Gardermoen is an fairly small airport (compared to busy airports such as Heathrow, London and Schiphol, Amsterdam), with an average of less than 500 takeoffs/landings a day. You will find it easy to navigate at the airport, there is just one terminal serving both domestic and international flights, but the dutyfree area in the international area is still very good, and you will find lots of cafes if the waiting time is long. Flight from Geneva to Norway. Ask the pilot to have a look to the Mont Blanc (highest European summit with 4'807 meters), higher than clouds inthis particulary case ;-) Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

I was flying either with Finnair or SAS to the Oslo Gardermoen airport. For me, from Helsinki it is almost like a local flight, just about 60 minutes on the air. Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

The old airport "Fornebu" was closed just some years ago and a new one called "Gardemoen" opened 50 km north of the city. The airport is served by the main airlines but more connections are available in you travel by SAS (Scandinavian airlines system) and change in Stockholm or Copenhagen. To go to the city center the fastest way is by train which takes between 20-30 mins but it's EXPENSIVE. A less expensive bus also serves the airport. A taxiride costs a lot as the airport is located far from Oslo city. Leave a Comment

Gardermoen is an excellent airport, one of the most convenient and well-thought-out I've ever flown through. It's a very new terminal: I read in an architectural guidebook that it was the largest construction project ever undertaken on Norwegian soil. Quality and intelligence are evident in all aspects of the design; no corners were cut here. The ample use of glass and wood is quite striking. To me, Gardermoen represents the best of modern Scandinavian architecture. Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

Oslo’s airport is enough far from city. You can take SAS Flybussen to reach city. It coast 100 krone. I was lucky with this company. When I came to airport, I found that I lost my luggage. Of course it made me sad, because in luggage I had some gifts to my friend. I went to SAS Flybussen bus and wanted to pay for my trip, but driver said: No need, it is for free today. I don’t know why it was for free, I was so happy, because Norway is really expensive country and I saved really much money :) And after few hours I got back my luggage. It was delivered to place where I stayed. Leave a Comment

Personally I prefer planes before all other transports. They are fast, rather safe and comfortable. So during my stay in Norway I also preferably used them and even got a bonus ticket from Scandinavian airlines. So called free ticket was my first experience to fly for “almost free” and I found it very easy and joyful. I’ve never met any problems during my travels around Norway by plane, though sometimes there were delays because of the weather conditions. Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

Oslo has got one main airport in the north which is called Gardenmoen Airport, Oslo. This airport is 45 mins to 1 hour from Oslo city centre. But there is another airport which is being famous day by day. It is called Oslo Torp airport and it's 1 hour and 45 mins from Oslo city center. KLM, Ryan air and Wideroe airlines operate from there. There is a direct bus connection after every 30 mins of arrival of every Ryan air flight in Oslo Torp airport to Oslo main bus terminal, just behind the Oslo main railway station. Leave a Comment
