Luggage and bags: Take only what you will need-no need to be weighted down with excess.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Here is the thing-the weather changes in Oslo regularly. In the summers you will be fine even with packign shorts-it gets that warm. The winters-can be quite cold. But if you are going out you may need some nicer things-jeans may not cut it.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: The sun is pretty strong. Pack sunscreen if you are prone to burns.

Luggage and bags: a rucksack is always more practical than a bag.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: some good fottwear if you're planning to walk around the city.
Bring a sweater and a jacket to wear in the evening when it gets a bit colder.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: as a general rule always keep your medical supplies in your hand luggage in case it's delayed or your suitcase/bags get lost.
Photo Equipment: I believe films are more expensive in Norway than other places. Bring films from from home country.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: a good tent in case of bad weather.
Miscellaneous: bring some medical supplies for your pets as well, as it's not easy to find a vet clinic when you really need it. Especially tablets in case of worm bit is necessary if you want to explore Nordmarka(the big wood area)

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Even if you come in summer you have to bring some warm clothes, at least a sweater and a jacket. The weather is very unpredictable here. Sometimes it can be over +30 C in the summer, and other times it can be around +10 C with lots of rain and wind. Bring an umbrella too, as it can be lots of rain sometimes.
The weather can change very fast here in Oslo. Even if it looks good in the morning you should bring along something warm. In one second the sun can shine from a blue sky, and in the next it can start raining and get very chilly.
If you come in winter you should pack your polar clothes... ;) It can be -25 C, snow and wind - so it's good to have lots of warm clothes to hide inside. You can buy clothes in Norway too, but it can be very expencive - unless you find a store that has a sale.

Miscellaneous: Pick up a free Oslo Guide at one of the Tourist Information Offices. Among other things it includes a street map and a helpful map of the public transport. Moreover general information about museums, sights, restaurants, events and all tourist related things is given. The free guide is available in various languages.
Oslo has two Tourist Information Offices; one is in the Central Train Station and the other one can be found by the City Hall.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Be prepared of nasty, windy and rainy weather !
Miscellaneous: Alcohol is extremely expensive here in Norway - so maybe you bring some dutyfree liquor with you, it will also be a nice gift for your friends living here.
Norway is NOT part of the EU, but since many years there are almost no controls at all, when you cross the border betweeen Sweden and Norway.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Weather in Oslo is unpredictable - be sure to bring rain gear!
Miscellaneous: Oslo is one of the most expensive cities in the world so to save money try to make sure you have enough toiletries, film for your camera etc before you get there.
Drink in particular is extremely expensive (at €7 plus for a pint it makes even Dublin look reasonable!) so bring lots of money if you're planning on having a night out.

Luggage and bags: Depends on what kind of trip you're on. Suitcases are good if you're staying on hotels, and have organized transportation from place to place. Backpacks are great for a more adventureous trip. If you're staying in hostels, camping and such.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Even if you're here midsummer, bring some warm clothes. Depending on where in Norway you're going the temperatures can get low. Bring along some solid footwear too, there's lots of great places to go trekking.
Photo Equipment: Both film to your camera, and to process your film is fairly reasonable in Norway. Yes allthough it's a very expensive country. There are many photoshops, and you'll get anything you need.
