D/S Loise is a place for quite traditional Norwegian food, has seasonal specialities, but does not go stale on the tradtitions. There is food here without the ever-present brown sauce! A very good place to eat and burn your money, the occasion being food tasting, romance or the big splash out - or with business colleagues.
Excellent food, wine.
Built over the theme of the old steamship ("D/S") Louise. Maritime atmosphere, but not quaint.
Favorite Dish: Got to be the sea food part of the menu; this place has good seasonal fish, like the "skrei" cod and "lutefisk". Look for halibut and wolf fish, too.
If you go for the meat part of the menu, chekc if the have something on the wild game side; red deer, reindeer, or moose.

Quiet during the afternoon but gets really busy towards dinner time after four. A good selection of things to eat, meats and fish, but watch out for the prices as they can add up very quickly. Service slows down when the place gets crowded but is excellent otherwise.
Chicken Ceasar Salad £16
French Onion Soup £10
Pommes Frittes £4
Ham Omlette £15
Steak £27
You get the idea... but the food is really good though...
Favorite Dish: Ham Omlette and Pommes Frites and two cokes £30 ! Tasted great though.

they are located at aker brygge, view of the bay if you're at the terrace, or inside if it's not summer.
You have to remeber Nordic manners, which are to wait to be seated and be as polite as the waiters are.
Fresh seafood is in every meal, but you can also choose salads and sandwiches well prepared too.
They can bring you an English/norsk/German menu if you desire.

One evening I got in contact with a Chinese traveller from Bejing. After some talk we decided to go for a drink at Aker Brygge. We popped into D/S Louise which is one of the more posh restaurants and bars at the quayside.
The place is uniquely decorated with all kinds of historic objects, pictures and models from the sea. The menu offers both traditional Norwegian food and international cuisine. The bar area is perfect for enjoying a drink and people watching.

D/S Luise located in the Aker Bridge is a very good restaurant with a la Carte-munu with Norvergian and International cousine. Elegant environment and very kind waiters give back a very nice evening. I suggest to try the Sandefjord Salmon and the Catfish. They are very very good!!!

This restaurant is one of the best in Oslo. It is crowded almost every night. The atmosphere is really nice, every wall is full of ship parts. Like all the restaurant in Oslo it is really expensive.
