I am going to try and include a few more snowboarding places that have been mentioned to me. I didn’t get to these places but hopefully these will be useful to other people and maybe I will get there if I (hopefully) manage another weekend in Oslo sometime.
One of these is Varingskollen. This resort is owned by the same people as Tryvann. Apparently Varingskollen is located in Hakadal, only 30 minutes from Oslo. To get there by train it suggests Skøyen – Oslo S/Hakadal – Jaren – Gjøvik. Get off at Varingskollen train station. The independent Norway Ski Info web site gives this resort the following scores -
For beginners 4.2/6
For advanced 4.4/6
For snowboarders 4.4/6
For more information the web site has plenty of information in English
As with the other resorts mentioned I can highly recommend the Ski Info Norway web site - http://www.skiinfo.no which is also in English.

Tryvann vinterpark (what's wrong with the letter 'w' guys ?) has just 11 slopes to play on. Of those, there is one steep black slope and one much longer run (piste 11).
Piste 11 is a rolling, well contoured, smoothe, uncrowded, groomed black run with a stunning view. I could only describe it as akin to ski-ing over Halle Berry's bum - but I would never say anything that sexist.
By the way, unlike the estimable Halle Berry, it also has no queues and it's own dedicated t-bar tow.

Karl Johansgate is our main street and right in the middle of it you can go iceskating. It's a very popular place, both for skating and for watching the people.
You can rent skates here if you haven't brought your own, and the prices are 45,- for adults and 30,- for children. You get 5,- in discount if you have the 'Oslo Pass'.

Tryvann is located just 20 min from the city centre, and can be reached by metro, bus or car. The longest run is 1400 meters, and the longest drop is 381 meters.
They have recently added some new slopes, and there are now 11 slopes with different lenghts and varying difficulties. Plus halfpipe for snowboarding. Many of the hills are floodlit so you can go skiing in the evening too.
You can rent skiequipment, so you don't have to bring your own. And there are some different schools if you would like to learn skiing or snowboarding.
