Oslo Airport Gardermoen. Such a wonderful airport. The building was built in 1998, and is one of the world's best functioning airports. It has also won several architectural awards. Oslo Airport Gardermoen lies 30 minutes north of the city. 19 minutes with express train. There are many cheap direct flights to Oslo from Europe. Direct flight to the U.S with Continental to Newark. Other U.S cities you usually have to go through Amsterdam Schiphol or Copenhagen Kastrup. Low-cost airlines flying to Oslo: www.germanwings.de www.ryanair.com (flies to Sandefjord Airport Torp!! - two hours south of oslo) www.basiqair.com www.norwegian.no www.sterling.dk Check the moose running infront of the airport, as it suited in the middle of a beautiful forest. Oslo has got one main airport in the north which is called Gardenmoen Airport, Oslo. This airport is 45 mins to 1 hour from Oslo city centre. But there is another airport which is being famous day by day. It is called Oslo Torp airport and it's 1 hour and 45 mins from Oslo city center. KLM, Ryan air and Wideroe airlines operate from there. There is a direct bus connection after every 30 mins of arrival of every Ryan air flight in Oslo Torp airport to Oslo main bus terminal, just behind the Oslo main railway station. Leave a Comment

Oslo’s airport is enough far from city. You can take SAS Flybussen to reach city. It coast 100 krone. I was lucky with this company. When I came to airport, I found that I lost my luggage. Of course it made me sad, because in luggage I had some gifts to my friend. I went to SAS Flybussen bus and wanted to pay for my trip, but driver said: No need, it is for free today. I don’t know why it was for free, I was so happy, because Norway is really expensive country and I saved really much money :) And after few hours I got back my luggage. It was delivered to place where I stayed. Leave a Comment

Personally I prefer planes before all other transports. They are fast, rather safe and comfortable. So during my stay in Norway I also preferably used them and even got a bonus ticket from Scandinavian airlines. So called free ticket was my first experience to fly for “almost free” and I found it very easy and joyful. I’ve never met any problems during my travels around Norway by plane, though sometimes there were delays because of the weather conditions. Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

There are many taxi companies operating to and from Oslo airport Gardermoen, and they all have different prices, depending on the time of day, ranging from 400 NOK to 1000 NOK for the same distance and time of day, so be warned. Do not hail a taxi outside...ask at the counter inside and choose your company and price first. Example: Airport - city centre, weekdays, daytime: Taxi 2: 395 NOK Norgestaxi: 490 NOK Oslo Taxi: 610 NOK Asker og Barum: 550 NOK Ovre Romerike Taxi: 740 NOK City Taxi: only by meter, approx. 1000 NOK, but you can negotiate According to the people who operate the counter there are about 30-40 fixed price schemes depending on time of day and company used...what a mess! Better take the airport train or bus instead: Airport express train 150 NOK Runs every 10, 20 or 30 mins depending on time of day, takes 20 mins Local/regional trains 77 NOK, runs every half hour or so, takes 40 mins Airport bus 110 NOK, runs every 20 mins, takes 40 mins, and btw for 170 NOK you get a return ticket that's valid for a month! I got very used to riding on the dumb buses while traveling (although I don't think I ever go to the point where I could sleep on one...) Anyways...they are a required part of a journey so I thought I would include this photograph to remember just how bad the bus ride was... :( - thank goodness for 'joyrides' Leave a Comment Theme: Bus

Torp-Ekspressen bussen operates direct buses between Sandefjord Airport Torp, which is Norway's next largest airport after Gardermoen airport, to Oslo city. Torp-Ekspressen has a seat guarantee for all Ryanair passengers (individual passengers do not require pre-booking). ONLY Torp Ekspressen corresponds with Ryanair departures flights from Torp. The bus is always standing just outside the arrivals hall of the Sandefjord airport. The ticket prices are following: Between Torp Airport and Oslo main bus terminal: One way Adult = 130 NOK. Return Adult = 230 NOK. One way Child = 70 NOK. Return Student= 200 NOK. Tickets can be bought from the driver of the bus. Leave a Comment
