Now this is a fantastic service that the city of Oslo provides - and it was here that I saw this kind of thing for the very first time in my life!
Throughout the city you will find these bike stations. What you need is an electronic smartcard (to be obtained either at www.adshel.no or at the tourist information. It costs 60 NOK/day plus a deposit of 500 NOK (unless you are organized and apply for one beforehand, which costs the same amount of money for a whole year!!)
With this smartcard you can get a bicycle for a maximum of 3 hours - and you can return it at any station. If you are not done with your tour, just get the next bike after 3 hours and so on!
The bike stations are open from 6 a.m. until midnight!

The bus stop at the airport is just in front of the door. You can't miss it. Bus stops in Drammen, Asker, Høvik, Lysaker, Sjølyst and Oslo bus terminal.
Tell the driver where to go and he tells you first, where to put your luggage. Going to Oslo costs 140 Kronen, if you buy the ticket back , it costs 250 Kronen. They accept credit cards, such as Visa. American Express, MasterCard.
The schedule of the busses is in relationship to the flights. So there will be no problem to get a bus.
BUT: When we wanted to leave from Sjølyst , the bus was too late. We were already getting a little bit nervous, it was 25 minutes too late. We got our flight back home, that was the most important! Ufff.
Informations about the bus as well at Trafikanten.

Oslo Gardermoen (OSL) is new airport opened in 1998, situated some 50 kilometers north of Oslo. The building is very modern construction and airport is of reasonable size enabling quick changes of airplanes.
There are several options to reach the airport. It is served by several buses: local Trafikanten buses, SAS Airport express buses and Flybusexpressen. Prices range from 90 to 120 NOK.
The airport has its own train station and all local and even some long-distance trains stop here. This takes ca 40 minutes. There is also a very expensive but very modern and fast "Flytoget" that will take you to the airport in only 20 minutes if you are willing to pay 150NOK.
Once my bus from Goteborg was late and Flytoget was my only option and I must say the ride was great - smooth and fast. Since I was on tight budget all other times I was using the SAS Airport bus (takes about an hour to the center, costs 110 NOK).

Some budget airlines (Ryanair for instance) and some domestic airlines (Wideroe) use Torp airport in Sandefjord. It is a typical "Ryanair" airport - meaning that it is not at all close to the city they are advertising. Still, with their prices an hour and a half bus ride to center of Oslo shouldn't be a problem.
Torp is a small airport with only one storey terminal. After the check-in there is a small restaurant and a waiting room and you walk across the apron to board the aircraft. Being a small airport has some advantages as well like quick check-in.
From Oslo Galleriet bus station you can take "Torp Expressen" bus that costs 130 NOK and corresponds all Ryanair flights. The bus also stops in Skøyen, Lysaker, Høvik, Asker and Drammen.
Once I was changing from Gardermoen to Torp - Torpexpressen had an agreement with Gardermoen Flybussen so you can get a discount on the price of bus tickets. (Can add well to the sum: I was flying Torp to Stockholm Skavsta for 99 NOK and airport transfer buses costed more than 200 NOK, but still it was cheaper than any other option).

Makes the trip quite easy, but be sure to arrive at the bus terminal 20mins to half hour before the bus should leave because it leaves on perfect schedule!

There are several ticket agencies in Oslo that do a great job. However, if you're in need for a ticket and will be sure not to be cheated on some wird package deal or funny deal, I can recommend Singh Express Reisebyrå AS. It's located next to the Oslo Central Railway Station (east). They will not sell you an expensive ticket unless you yourself insist. They do all kinds of ticketing, but always use scheduled airlines and always find the best price. Their name suggest a specialisation on the South Asian market, which is partly true, but they are also good on distant holiday destinations.
It's a bit of a cultural expereince to go in there, and they may not seem good at follow you up, say if you are on a waiting list or so. My experience is that they will tell you in time if things are NOT ok.

Take a look at this map next time you're going somewhere with the Metro.
The metro goes around as marked in the map. It's called "ringen", meaning "the ring."
The stations from Toyen to Majorstua are connections points.

Oslo Metro, or the T-bane, is the main transit system of Oslo. It has 6 lines that runs through the city center. The Metro has 105 stations, where 16 of them are underground. It started as a suburban tram line to Holmenkollen in 1898, and became the first Nordic underground railway in 1928 when the underground line to Nationaltheatret was opened.

Jernbanetorget is a main intersection in Oslo downtown, connecting the streets of Karl Johans gate, Fred Olsens gate, Strandgata and Biskop Gunnerus gate. Most people traveling with train to Oslo go off here to change to Metro, Tram, Bus or Taxi. The area has some large shopping centers like Oslo City and Byporten.
