The food is prepared on site with raw materials from local suppliers. The restaurant is very popular even by people not staying in the hotel, especially around Christmas and on weekends. The sunday dinner has become a favourite for many a family, especially the part about the children's playroom / cartoon videos, which gives the parents the possibility to relax and enjoy their meal :-) I have eaten there several times, and have never been disappointed. The only minus from my point of view, is that we have to wait too long between courses. That is OK when you are there to enjoy a nice meal, offcourse, but when you have only a short brake between course or meeting sessions, you might want to utilize that brake for a little more than just sitting at the table.

Everything I have had there is excellent!
I haven't eaten with them since they moved to Sandnes, but I ate there a lot when they were in Stavanger. In addition to vietnamese, they serve thai and chinese food. Since there are several other chinese and thai restaurants in Stavanger, I have always chosen vietnamese, and I have always been very satisfied. Service is friendly and the ambient nice with colors not glaring like in many chinese restaurants.
Cozy place. The best food in town.

All the food is really good. In addition Gamlaværket is a small hotel. So you may even stay the night.
