I haven't been to Havana Badeland for a very long time and I believe it may have closed down. In 2006 it was given the dubious award of the worst bathing / leisure facility in Norway and I must admit, the last time I remember going there, it was definitely looking jaded.
You can enjoy at least the Beach Volleyball World Championships in Stavanger...
Last year it was amazing... I will let the photos speaking for me.
I have to mention that all the "beaches" are artificial, and the sand is imported from the surrounding beaches in Rogaland.
Equipment: Something as noisy as possible to encourage your preferred team...
Bore beach south of Stavanger is one of the few good surf spots in Norway. The beach is popular for surfing, but there are not enough surfers in Norway to make it crowded ;)
Equipment: Thick wetsuit, it is not the warmest waters in the world ;)
I really enjoy playing squash and I ty to play a couple of times each week. There are several places to play squash around Stavanger. The best place is "Sola Racket senter" at Røyneberg. This place has 8 courts but you should book ahead at least if you are playing after 4 pm. You can also play at Tasta and this also has 8 courts if I'm not mistaken. But I don't play at Tasta very often because the courts have concrete walls and I prefer the wooden walls.
Equipment: You can rent the racket at the Squash center but you should bring your own shoes.
