by jacob_m The airport of Stavanger is called Sola and is located 14 km southwest of the city. There are buses between the city center and the airport leaving every 20 mins passing the major hotels of Stavanger. The fare costs NOK 45, there is also a bus to Sandnes. There are flights to many Norwegian cities like Bergen, Oslo and Sandefjord as well as to some international cities; Copenhagen, London, Aberdeen, Stockholm, Newcastle and Amsterdam. Most flights are operated by SAS and Braathens. Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

Stavanger Airport by Jonesy77 At the moment there are two airlines operating in Norway., SASBraathens ( http://www.sasbraathens.no/Pages/EN/WebRes/braathens.html )and Norwegian ( http://www.norwegian.no/sw7127.asp ). There are also some direct flights to/from London, Nice, Amsterdam and a few other cities in Europe. At the moment there is a pricewar between the two airlines in Norway so if you plan ahead you will be able to get some good prices on the tickets :-) The Airport is about 15 minutes from the city by taxi/bus. All big cities in Europe are connected with Stavanger. All the big operators are coming than in Stavanger and the planes are always full. The main reason is the oil and gas industry and the commuters moving in (and out of) the Capital of Norwegian Oil and Gas. Theme: Airplane

Long distance trains to Kristiansand and Oslo three times a day + overnight. Regional service to Kristiansand twice a day. Local train to Egersund every hour between 05:16 and 23:16 + 23:46, and a couple of extra during rush hours. Loocal train to Nærbø every half hour between 05:16 and 23:46. There is only one line, meaning that the regional and the long distance trains stop at some of the local destinations as well: Sandnes, Bryne and Egersund. The railway station is situated on the southern side of the pond Breiavannet, right next to the bus terminal. Leave a Comment

Byterminalen by Rusket The main bus terminal Byterminalen is situated right next to the railway station on the southern side of the pond Breiavannet. The airport shuttle buses as well as long distance buses have their main stops inside the terminal. Local buses stop in the area, but have their main stops downtown Stavanger, that is on the other side of the pond. There is a taxi station between the railway station and the bus terminal. Schedules for buses, trains and boats can be found on the linked site (norwegian only). Leave a Comment

You arrive at the Sola airport, which is about 15 minouts away from Stavanger. The airport is small,u will not get confused or walk a million miles there.Get in a cab,or take the bus right outside. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

The best way to come here is of course by air. The airport at Sola has connections with London, Copenhagen, Amsterdam and so on. But it is also possible to catch the train here. Stavanger is actually the end of the line. The best way to get around is by walking because it is not such a big town. But if you need to get around there is a page that describes the timetables for buses, boates and train. The only problem is that it only seems to be in Norwegian. But check it out on http://www.rkt.no/ Leave a Comment Theme: Other

If you are travelling from the UK the ferry MV Jupiter leaves from Newcastle International Ferry terminal, twice a week. It then goes on to Bergen through the fiords, before returning to the UK. The sail through the fiords is worth the trip itself. Leave a Comment Theme: Ship/Boat
