At the moment there is a pricewar between the two airlines in Norway so if you plan ahead you will be able to get some good prices on the tickets :-)

All big cities in Europe are connected with Stavanger. All the big operators are coming than in Stavanger and the planes are always full.
The main reason is the oil and gas industry and the commuters moving in (and out of) the Capital of Norwegian Oil and Gas. Theme: Airplane

Long distance trains to Kristiansand and Oslo three times a day + overnight.
Regional service to Kristiansand twice a day.
Local train to Egersund every hour between 05:16 and 23:16 + 23:46, and a couple of extra during rush hours.
Loocal train to Nærbø every half hour between 05:16 and 23:46.
There is only one line, meaning that the regional and the long distance trains stop at some of the local destinations as well: Sandnes, Bryne and Egersund.
The railway station is situated on the southern side of the pond Breiavannet, right next to the bus terminal. Leave a Comment

Bus no 4A turns right onto Tellusveien and goes to Madlakrossen North via the suburb Tjensvoll, no 4B continues over Ullandhaug, turns right onto Folkeviseveien and goes via Jernalderveien and Madlamarkveien to Madlakrossen South.

Madlamarkveien: You can get off here and walk between the houses down to Hafrsfjord, or go to Madlakrossen and change to bus no 5 (or 7)

The best way to come here is of course by air. The airport at Sola has connections with London, Copenhagen, Amsterdam and so on. But it is also possible to catch the train here. Stavanger is actually the end of the line.
The best way to get around is by walking because it is not such a big town. But if you need to get around there is a page that describes the timetables for buses, boates and train.
