Møllebukta in Hafrsfjord is a popular beach. The fjord is shallow with a narrow opening into the ocean, which means that bathing temperatures are often higher here than on the Jæren beaches. And I must admit I prefer sunbathing on grass rather than on sand!
A part of the beach is reserved for surfers.

While you are taking a nice bath in Møllebukta, you can admire the three swords in stone, a monument by Fritz Røed commemorating the battle of Hafrsfjord in 872 AD that led to Norway becoming a united kingdom. Actually, King Harald Hårfagre (Fairheaded Harald) was about 10 years old by that time, meaning that the battle, which is now thought to have been the last uprising from his enemies, must have taken place a lot closer to year 900 AD.

By Hafrsfjord these three bronze swords have been put up as a monument to a Viking battle that took place here in 872 A.D. After the battle Harald H?rfagre (Fairheaded Harald) united Norway into one kingdom.
This is also a very nice place to relax during the summer. There is even a little beach next to the swords.
