This is the most European place I managed to find in Trondheim, the atmosphere reminding of Viennese coffee shop, with good coffee and good pastries. They advertise themselve as the place that offers the best pastries in Norway, and although this doesn’t have to be totally the true their chocolate cake is very near the Viennese original.
Besides cakes and coffee they also offer light meals and salads. In late afternoon, after work, the place is usually crowded by an interesting mix of older ladies, young suit-and-tie professionals and students. As you walk by the front door you’ll also notice a small shop where you can buy fresh bread and pastries.
Favorite Dish: Coffee and chocolate cake is surely good and if they had a regular service (instead of the usual bar-like self-service) you would almost feel like you’re in Central Europe. That is, untill you get the bill that will for coffee and cake be around 100 kr, or around 50 kr for a beer (but you can get a student discount :) .
Watch the weight when you go in here. The place is famous for it's kakes, and with good reason. They are absolutely delicious.
Favorite Dish: The potatoe of cream and marsipan.
