    Warm-Weather Ski-Jumping

    ski-jump

Warm-Weather Ski-Jumping is not for everyone, and especially not for me... so my tip is aimed at watching this sport, rather than practising it.... watching means that you can do it in summer, too - and maybe it is even mroe ipressive as this very young jumpers jump and land on "slippery plastic" runs...

The Granåsen Ski Jump is the place for it - and it's easily reachable by public bus. Entrance is free, but you better find out with the tourist office when trainings take place.

    Oppdal skicenter

Oppdal, the mountain district in central Norway, is also well-known as Norways largest downhill skiing area. You will find 16 lifts and 27 slopes of various difficulty here. The drop between the top and the bottom are 790 meter. The center are usually open between early december and may.

Equipment: You need regular skiing/snowboard equipment. But if you don't want to bring this with you, you can rent it on the ski center. It may be a bit expencive, but you will have a day with lots of fun! Remember to bring a lot of warm clotes. Winter in Norway can be cold!

    Skiing in Vassfjellet

    Me on the top!

The ski center has six lifts and ten tracks. So it isn't very big. But it's still great and worth a visit! The total difference from bottom to top is 660 meters. Vassfjellet is one of Norways biggest ski center in short distance from a city. If you want to relax with skiing/snowboarding one evening, it is lights in some of the tracks (total 4,5km). You will also find a snowboard area with halfpipe and bigjump. The area also have a Cafe, skishop, skirent, skisrevice and a skischool.

But the best thing about Vassfjellet is plenty of great places for offpiste skiiing! Beautiful white powder snow!
