The bicyckle lift Trampe, Trondheim
This is a really funny and also unique sight : A lift that helps cyclers to go uphill with the help of a tiny platform, where they post there right foot, while sitting on the bicycle and they are pushed uphill that way. Unfortunately you will need a special card in order to use this lift, but I am sure watching others is a lot better than taking it yourself.
In a few stores nearby you can get such a card and when you are lucky and spend some time there, you will find a "victim" for your photo or video.
Trondheim was the first city in the world to build a own lift for cyclists. It takes you up the steep hill Brubakken and almost all the way to Kristiansten Fort.
You have to have a keycard to operate it, but this can be picked up in the Tourism Office at the town square. You then insert the keycard, put your foot on the footrest and glide up the 130 metre hill at a speed of 2 metres pr second.
Why don't all hills have a lift like this...? ;)
it has been said to be the first lift of it's kind. unfortunatly I newer got to see the lift in action.
