Ravnkloa is a place where local people go to buy their fish and meat. It wasn't set up as a tourist attraction. But the word of mouth has had it that is is a very worthwhile place to visit, and tourist authorities have backed this up considerably. I would say not necessarily that interesting; but it's still a good place to get your fish for dinner, and perhaps some seafood snacks like shrimp or fish cowder. Every time in Trondheim I try to drop by here to see the catches and stock up on good fish.
Boats for Munkholmen and the other side of canal also depart from Ravnkloa.
Unique Suggestions: Stroll by, check out the fish and stuff, no need to buy anything.

Fun Alternatives: Nearby canalside restaurants for a real meal. you cant watch the crownd at Ravnkloa from there.

Guide books and homepages make this sound like the most cosy of places when in fact it is little more than the home for the boat to Munkholmen and a seafood food hall. I was expecting other boats and some café life and was quite disappointed. The seafood café didn't even sell fresh prawns which I had hoped to enjoy a box on the quay...
Unique Suggestions: Have a look at the seafood for sale and feel disgusted at the marinated whale cutlets on display...
