Tourist Information?
Travelling in Norway, you often come across the sign 'Tourist Information. 100, 200 etc...... metres'. A little lost for ideas what to see next, you are overjoyed to see it. So you drive on looking for a tourist office but can't see it. A little disappointed, you just give up. But, after you have done this several times, their idea of tourist information dawns on you at last. It's just a board by the roadside with a description of the local attractions. Not that it's much use to you if you are a foreigner as in most cases the text is only in Norwegian. So you'd better collect all the leaflets and brochures you can get once you do get to a real tourist information centre. There may be none for miles around.
