Ferries
A visit to Sogn og Fjordane is impossible without at least one, but usually more ferry trips.Some ferry crossings can be avoided by following the winding coastline of the fjords but this always means going a roundabout way and what you save on the ferry will be spent on extra petrol. So enjoy the ferries as we did - they offer wonderful views of the fjords and give the driver some time to rest - he/she will need it after negotiating the endless bends.In the picture - our car on the ferry from Dragsvik to Hella. Unfortunately, this time the sides of the ferry were too high to enjoy the view and it was too short a crossing to climb onto the upper deck, so I just stayed in the car. My tall husband could just about see the view standing on a step at the front. But this was an exception, usually the crossing is longer and the upper deck commands a great view of the fjord.The ferries go...
