A short cut to Vestfold and Telemark
If you travel to Vestfold and Telemark from Sweden, the easiest and time and money-saving means of transport is the ferry Moss - Horten. We have taken it twice, once two years ago on our way back home and last year at the start of our tour of Norway. This ferry connection is not too expensive (ca 100 NOK for the car with the driver + one passenger) but saves you the tolls on the roads around Oslo or the tolls and a lot of baffling tunnel driving around Drammen if you want to go west. Instead, you can sit on deck admiring the views or have a snack in the bar, with the driver enjoying the well-deserved rest. The service runs frequently, you won't have to wait long.There is another ferry even further south: from Stromstad in Sweden to Sandefjord, but the 2.5 hour journey costs 330 SEK for a car with two passengers. We could afford neither the money nor the time: we would have arrived there...
