Ferry from Eidsdal to Linge

by Cristian_Uluru

One of the nice way to reach Geiranger is by car. It is very easy to reach it from Stryn following the Rv 15 and then the Rv 63. From Alesund you, instead, you must take a ferry from Linge to Eidsdal. The journey is about 10 minutes throght the Norddalsfjorden. From Eidsdal after about 20 Km you reach Geiranger.More information on my Geiranger page

a working ship

by Sue08080

Taking the "Hurtigruten" is the perfect way to see coastal Norway. This working ship makes its way up the coast from Bergen to Kirkenes and back again, delivering mail and supplies. The brief layovers in each town give ample opportunity for exploring, while time on the ship is spent basking in the magnificent scenery. The rooms are pleasant and the food is excellent, particularly the fresh salmon.

When you arrive to the small town of Vangsnes in the Fjord og Region you must take a ferry to Hella or to Dragsvik. I took the one to Hella. The journey is about 20 minutes and allow you to see how the sognefjorden is great!!!!More information on mySogn og Fjordane Region.

Tunnels

by Diana75

I can call Norway the country of the tunnels. I didn't count how many we have passed during our trip, but there where probably around 50.Cut into the mountain and well marked, the tunnels have an average length of 6km.The longest we have passed through is certainly the Laerdalstunnelen, which actually is the world?s longest tunnel, but there where also other interesting tunnels, especially on our way back from Stryn to Oslo: a tunnel with a 90 degree bend in it or different with traffic lights for avoiding the chaos.

Ferry crossing the fjords

by Diana75

Beside the well developed road network, in fjords area the ferry is an esential mean of transportation easily and convenient connecting the towns located on the shores.Crossing the fjords according to a precise timetable and having a relatively cheap price, the ferry is the best choice for saving a lot of time and also admiring the stunning landscape. On longer routes the ferry has also a bar with drinks and food and a restroom. For more information regarding the ferry crossing and the time table check this web site: http://www.fjord1.no/

Roads in Norway

Norway has a well developed road network allowing easy access to all the country's attractions. Both the major roads and local, smaller roads have very good to good conditions. Most of the roads in fjords area have only one traffic line per direction, but these are not usually crowded. The roads are very well marked and there is no problem to drive during the night.

Driving

by Gili_S

I was driving to north of Norway few times from the Finnish Lapland. It’s the best way to explorer Norway, as you really need to see and be able to stop in all the small interesting places. The distances are huge and the mountains roads are not easy to drive at all.
