    inside the bunkers

by globetrott Updated Feb 7, 2012

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

These are some more pictures of the museum that you will find inside the bunkers, with a lot of exhibity of the military occupation of Nazi-germany in Norway. In my 4th picture you will see the rail-system that allowed even the most heavy missiles to be moved around quite easily by only a few soldiers. These rails were to be found INside the bunkers as well as OUTside of them.

inside the bunkers - strange "souvenirs"

by globetrott Updated Feb 7, 2012

The bunkers for the soldiers look like freshly painted, but in fact they are certainly still original and simply look like freshly painted, as no sunlight ever fell into these rooms. In this part of the museum you can walk around on your own as well and get a good idea of how it used to be to be a part of the military actions at this very special place in WW II.

the bunkers for the large cannons

by globetrott Updated Feb 7, 2012

Here in this picture you can see one of the bunkers for the large cannons. Thousands of tons of concrete were used in order to protect these cannons, that were able to be pointed and turned into different directions around the axle that you can see in my 3rd picture here.
You can step inside that bunker and touch everything and I think I have read that the cannon for this bunker could not be finished in time.
The only remained cannon was not covered by such a bunker.
