On Bromsjordet close to the centre in Horten lies Horten Stateboard Park. It is one of Norways largest parks and a great place to leave your kid for an hour or two if you are shopping in Horten.
The park has a lot to offer for both skateborders, roller skaters and bmx riders and the kids (from about 8- 18 years old) are usually friendly and including to strangers.
The only negative thing is that is was full of trash and remainings from old ramps that recently had been taken down.

Pittoresque village about 10 minutes from Horten and 15 minutes from Toensberg.
The city center has a nice architecture with small white houses and tiny streets. Well known by fans of arts which is understandable when you see the superb views.
Edvard Munch lived here a couple of years. His house is still here.

Nice little channel separating the Karl Johansvern island from the mainland. Next to a quiet parc, beach and a 10 minute walk from the city center.
