They usually serve tapas dishes but can make almost anything you want. I really loved the food and the...

  • Best pizzas around!

    Larvik Restaurants

Peppes Pizza is a chain restaurant in Norway. The one in Larvik is siruated right on the waterfront and has seating inside (tables and booths) and outside (tables), so the location is great. The inside of the restaurant has a warm feeling to it, and a fun one as well. When I was there there were couples and families alike (with little kids being...

The Foynogarden (Foyn House) is a listed building that shows the town centre's oldest existing town house as they were normally laid out, with a warehouse down by the harbour and the main house up facing the street. To meet the needs of the entire household, a workshop, stall, barn, hayloft and a garden were located between the main house and the...

  • Kristinus Bergman - good value for money

    Helgeroa Restaurants

The Kristinus Bergman serves very good food and in my opinion represents better value for money compared to the other restaurant in Helgeroa (the Vertshuset SydVesten) The pizzas are thin crust rather than deep pan so our 13 year old son was able to finish a medium sized one without getting bloated. Being a fan of seafood, I had scampi for...

    Helgeroa Restaurants

The Vertshuset SydVesten restaurant in Helgeroa serves some nice food although it is rather pricey (even by Norwegian standards). One dish we can definitely recommend is the mussels cooked in a white wine and onion and garlic sauce. This was delicious and can be ordered as either a starter or main course. The medium pizza is probably big enough to...

  • The old mines: Beware!

    Konnerud Warnings and Dangers

Take care if you go to see the old mines. Many of them, even the ones that aren't closed with fences, are connected via shafts to the main mine. This means that in worst case, you can end up falling 100 feet. These mines are often wet and slippery, so even if you are careful it's still dangerous.

    Konnerud Off The Beaten Path

The old mines, most of them dating from the 18th century, are spread out over a large area. The biggest concentration is located around Konnerudkollen. The names of the old mines bear witness of the large number of Germans who worked here back then: "Gott mit uns", "Gluck auf" and "Hessen" are some examples.Be aware that most of these old mines...
