Braniewo Travel Guide

This is a local park in Braniewo just across the road from Holy Cross Church complete with fountain and bandstand.

When visiting Braniewo we took a day trip to The Teutonic fortress at Malbork. This is a view from across the river

The bazaar is located in the center of the city within walking distance of the park. The various booth keepers had everything from shoes to vegetables to jewelry clothing and toys . It was fun.

What to buy: I found attractive leather pouches and table linens

What to pay: prices were I thought reasonable

This small port is just outside of Braniewo, we visited relatives here. The sailing in the Wislany lagoon was lovely. Water birds were everywhere. Our host took us to see a beach made up of layer upon layer of tiny sea shells. The water here is approximately 50 % salinized so there it is a very interesting habitat.

The scenery on the Wislany Lagoon was unforgetable. Seabirds nesting in the tiny tufts of island dotting the edge of the lagoon are like a paradise.

Equipment: Go with someone who knows the area. We went with my cousin our "captain" and host. This area is also accessable from nearby port of Fromborg
