The rail led into the interior of the camp to the mass genocide devices. Newly transported Jews were thrown out from the wagons here & SS dortors carried out selctions.
Those who were able to work were categorized as camp prisoners ...the remainders were led to immediate death in the gas chambers....
Walking along this rail track would have some emotional effects to some people.....

These are the photo by me that I took around Birkenau Death Camp, near the Auschwitz Camp.
It is 175 hectares & this camp had over 300 prison barracks, 4 huge gas chambers complete with a crematorium.
Each gas chamber could accomodate 2000 people & there were electric lifts to raise the bodies to the ovens.
This camp could hold 200,000 inmates at a time...
Most of the time I would wander off from my group because I wanted to feel the tranquility of the place ! I wanted to feel the air, the atmosphere, the wind on my face...of this place ! I snapped another photo.CONTINUE WITH MY PHOTOS...

From the barracks, I glanced outside & there was another group of people walking in towards the barracks to have their explainations on the place.
You can also see the watch tower (which is the entrance to this place) on the photo just on the left of those people...

The photo : Now this was not the oven where the people were burnt in but rather a heater inside the barracks...We were told that rarely the heater had fire in it so during winter, some people were just died because of the cold !

Here's a photo of the front of the barracks. Also the path that us tourists walk on now...while walking on this path, I would just imagine when I was at the actual time, where people were back to their barracks...

One more photo of the fences. Now the barbed wire fences are put but during those days, they were just wires which had electric current running through them !

Here you can see the distance between the barracks to the electric fences...Not that far because some people did escape their death at the camp, we were told by the tour guide. The same girl guide who were with us from The Auschwitz camp...

The photo shows a small structure in the middle of the field. It could be a store room, it could the room there the Nazi dumped the ashes of those unfortunate people...

Just a corner of the prisoners barrack; I was feeling sad of what could have happened in this corner. There would so many stories, so many sad & horrible memories to tell if we look at the corner closely...

Photo shows the close-up of the toilets ! People were sitting next to one another while they were doing their do's & their bunk beds were just 2 feet away from these toilets !
