Come to ski in Bukowina
Bukowina Tatrzanska has a number of slopes with ski lifts, representing various degrees of difficulty, from ones for beginners to those for experienced skiers. They are not as crowded as those in Zakopane but you can expect quite a few fellow skiers at Christmas, for the New Year and at school holiday times, which vary for different regions of Poland, but usually don't start until February. Snow is almost guaranteed from December, and sometimes even November, till March, although we have had some milder winters when it was at a premium. Snacks and hot drinks are usually provided close to the ski routes and there are some great bars and restaurants where you can spend your evenings. Hot wine with cloves served in them can be really invigorating after a day of skiing in the freezing cold.
Equipment: If you don't bring your own, equipment can be hired on the spot or in Zakopane.

Biking in Bukowina
To cycle in Bukowina you will need a mountain bike. The main roads are not so busy, though this depends on the season of the year, but steep at places, for instance, the road to Glodowka. But when you have already climbed it, you can race down without any effort at great speed, just mind the cars. The dirt roads are not too good for bikes, unless you like all kinds of obstacles: muddy surface, stones, tree roots. To avoid going uphill or downhill all the time, you can take the road to Zakopane and then turn left towards Murzasichle and Male Ciche. There you will find a relatively level road and a great view of the Tatras and the Glodowka Clearing from afar. Yet, generally speaking, nearby Slovakia and its empty roads are a much better place for bikers.
