Czersk Pomorski Off The Beaten Path
Kwieki, a village lost in woods
I came across this village while I was hiking from Lubnia across the Niechwaszcz River - very scenic meadows along the river. It's on the area of Czersk Commune, which forms a region called Zabory or Ziemia Zaborska with Wiele and Brusy. Once the people who lived there where called Zaboraki Krebanie (also : Krubanie, Krëbanë, Krubacze). Though one can easily find out some information on the indigenous people, it's hard to search on the traditional architecture of the place, and more difficult to see it. That's a pity that a false modernisation in Pomorze had led to the decline of wooden houses on the country. I hope a cottage taken by me in the village is original and represents the local style.
