You can get to Frombork by land, travelling by bus or by train, but it is much more interesting to arrive there by boat. The town has boat connections with Krynica Morska and Elblag, but in the low season the trips may be cancelled if there are not enough passengers. The only disadvantage of taking a round trip to Frombork from Krynica Morska for example is that you only have about three hours for sightseeing before the boat goes back and there are so many things to see....You can also go for a day trip from Frombork to Kaliningrad (Russia) in the summertime but only if you have pre-arranged the Russian visa.

Though Frombork is only a small town it has a ferry port, railway and bus station. There are ferries to a number of locations including Kalinlingrad. I took this picture from the end of the jetty looking back towards the cathedral and a ferry boar can be seen in the picture. The website is for the ferry service and has English pages.
