a.g.roberts's General Tip

by a.g.roberts

Catholicism is a very important and noticable part of Polish life. One of the best mistakes I made while in Krakow was to wander into the large St. Mary's Church in Rynek Glowny at the beginning of a service. I was just going in to take a look but ended up getting kind of trapped. When in Rome... I crossed myself (hopefully in the right way) and sat down. The organ music was beautiful and that together with the beautiful interior of the church made it a thoroughly enjoyable experience. And I didn't have to pay cause I went in with the congregation! oops...

Boy, I hope you like cabbage! During my two weeks in Poland I don't think I saw any other vegetable. I'll never forget what is considered a salad at most Polish restaurants; five scoops of different flavoured cabbage coleslaws with a dill pickle on top. What ever happened to lettuce?

by tanguito

You have many beautiful cities where to go, but the classic is to choose Krakow, which is cultural center declared by UNESCO. Krakow is charming, the old part is full of life, and the meeting point of people. The other city you can go (first you should go to Krakow), is Warsaw. It s an industrialized city, but plenty of history too. In the main city you can see the cultural center, it s like a big ben, but very popular, downstairs you have cinemas, restaurants and a disco club. In the old town you have the main square which is amazing!! (believe me). It was all reconstructed after the 2WW, because it was totally destroyed, but it looks amazing
