The best restaurant by far in Gliwice is Spartan. It is located right in the main square (Rynek 11), and have all kinds of goodies, with the menu in both English and Polish. I don't usually recommend stuff, but in this place you have to have the potato pancake with mushroom filling with sour cream on top. Trust me, I've been all over Poland and I have not found anything even remotely as good as this. Spartan is really the first place I go to whenever I'm in Gliwice, and that's pretty often. Just to give you an idea of how much it costs, I went to Spartan with a friend, ordered two Hungarian style potato pancakes (which are pretty big) and some juice, and the bill came to $7.50.
