Favorite thing: There is a 8 km long pilgrim's path that takes you around the 40 chapels which are said to resemble the one in Jerusalem. You can view a map on the second photo.
On the first photo you see the main complex of the Benedictine church and its surroundings.
Fondest memory: In the front of the church there is a biggish square and on one side you will find souvenir shops which sell souvenirs, refreshments and religious artifacts. Unfortunately at none of the stalls I have seen any single postcards but there is another shop behind the church where the postbox is there is probably a good chance to find some there when the shop is open.

Favorite thing: It's always a great pleasure to receive a postcard from far, mysterious place. You can buy postcards in Kiosk z dewocjonaliami opened daily: 7.00 am - 12.15 pm and 1.15 pm - 5.00 pm.
Then look for a red post-box as on my picture to send them.

Favorite thing: There are public phones available just outside House of Pilgrim (Dom Pielgrzyma) - look at my picture.
Warning: international calls are still very expensive in Poland - it should change in a few years. Usually it's a few times more expensive to call abroad from Poland than from abroad to Poland (7 times reffering to New Zealand for example - CRAZY!).

Favorite thing: Map of Kalwaria Avenues is available in Kiosk z dewocjonaliami opened daily 7.00 am – 0.15 pm and 1.15 pm – 5.00 pm.
There is a map of 41 churches and chapels which form so called "Kalwaria Avenues" on a table inside the basilica as well - just by the entry.

Favorite thing: There is an audio-visual tourist information unit located by the entrance to the basilica.
It costs 2.00 zl (coins 2.00, 1.00 and 0.5 zl acceptable).

There are info tables with information (history) on Calvarian Basilica in English located just by the unit.
I recommend you to buy a guide-book in a Kiosk z dewocjonaliami before you start your trip around.

Favorite thing: Inside the area of the Passion-Marian Sanctuary in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska there are:
1. The Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels and the Franciscan Monastery,
2. The Higher Seminary,
3. 41 churches and chapels which form so called "Kalwaria Avenues".
Fondest memory: Basilica - evening holy mass with songs sang by local monks!
