There are sculptures of sad women nn the left side of the gate from the previous tip. Virgins or what? Sorry, I don't remember - it's just my dirty imagination :-).

The gate on my pictures goes from the cloisters of the High Castle Courtyard to the castle's church. Pay attention to it's amazing decorations. And look at the next tips.

A courtyard is an area of flat ground outside which is partly or completely enclosed by the walls of a buiding.
And the castle courtyard is surrounded by high walls of the High Castle.

It seems that they built the whole machinery to get the water up from the well. There are a few wooden cog-wheels to make it easier. Hmm... I didn't try to use it. Should I?

The Courtyard of the High Castle is the central point for all visitors. There are a lot of expositions (and tourists) around. But it's not crowded area anyway, as you can see on my picture.

Look at the last door before you enter the High castle Courtyard. It is made of iron and surely it is heavy door but - what a surprice -easy to move - good old technology :-).

Oh, no, you must pass through the two more gates and one more drawbridge to enter the High Castle Courtyard. Hmm... it was really not so easy to get inside.

You must go through the second (internal) wall to enter the High Castle. Pay attention to wooden top of the entrance gate. Doesn't it look amazing?

Look at the first (external) wall of the High Castle and the beautiful small gate. Pay attention to the typical brick colours and composition.

There is the wooden drawbridge over the deep moat seperating the Middle Castle from the High Castle. Just go through the bridge and don't worry - they never rise the bridge up nowadays :-).
