by slawekjb Jezioro Turkusowe near Miedzyzdroje. This place used to be a mine. During or after the WW II, it was floded and it became a lake with a unique colour, hence its name. Near by, one finds a lot of interesting sites, homes and artisans selling their stuff all-over. Don't miss the opportunity to aquire, what's called locally 'Polish Gold' - the amber and many products made with/of it. Leave a Comment

Polish castles by matcrazy1 Over the centuries, Polish kings and magnates erected numerous defensive castles and stately palaces. Turbulent history has reduced many of them into piles of rubble. Some of them, however, have been spared and today - carefully restored - enchant us with their beauty. At present, some of these buildings house government offices, colleges, etc. Others serve as museums. . Leave a Comment Website: ww.poland.net/castles

by milicz Go and check out Miedzyzdroje on Polands northwest coast. Everybody outside of Poland usually hits Sopot during the summer, but Miedzyzdroje is, according to my high estimation, funner. Leave a Comment

by radzio Chelmno: My place of birth. It is a very old and beautiful town in the Pomerania district. You can feel the great atmosphere of this place while walkin around the lovely narrow streets of the oldest part of Chelmno. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area! Leave a Comment

by radzio Kaszuby: A lake district in north-central Poland. A great place if you like to walk around meadows, fields and orchards, swiming or sailing. Some Kashubians speak both Polish and a dialect incomprehensible even to the Poles or a mix of both. Leave a Comment

by radzio Kazimierz Dolny: A very romantic town located near Lublin on the bank of Vistula River. It's very popular among Polish artists. In the summer a film festival is held in Kazimierz. It's a very peacefull, beautifull and romantic place... Leave a Comment

by radzio Wabrzezno: A town in the Pomerania district with forteen thousand residents. I've spent seven years in Wabrzezno. My dad and grandad still live there, they both have houses by two different lakes. What's interesting about this town is that it's sorrounded by three lakes and there are virtually no tourists there. The picture you can see on the left has been painted by my great grandfather, Bronislaw Stanczewski (I am sorry for the poor quality- will try to improve it in the nearest future) Leave a Comment
