Favorite thing: The Pieniny Mountains are an area of great natural beauty. All kinds of wild plants abound here, creepers climb the steep rocks , masses of flowers can be found in the valleys and high on the mountain faces. Some of the plants are endemic to the area, which means they cannot be found anywhere else. Trees grow high on the mountainsides, so that sometimes it's hard to see how they feed there. There is a pine on Trzy Korony which everybody takes photos of as it seems to grow literally on nothing but rock. Nature still proudly demonstrates its power here. And I hope it will for some time yet before the hordes of tourists (700,000) that come here every year trample it to the ground, unless the local authorities limit access to the park for groups.
