The wooden St Martin's church at Grywald was built in the second half of the 15th century. In 1618 the church was rebuilt and given the present shape of a framework construction with shingled walls. Inside there are fragments of polychromic paintings dating back to 1618 and the high altar in the form of a Gothic triptych from the beginning of the 16th century. The church is one of the most precious of Gothic wooden churches in the Malopolska region.
Normally, people would base themselves in Szczawnica if hiking or rafting on The Dunajec...but if you don't arrive to Katy ( where the rafting along The Dunajec would start...) from Szczawnica, then....a stroll around Szczawnica is a must,...simply because the rafting would end the journey in Szczawnica.
Please go to my Szczawnica Page to know about the town...& having a meal at Koci Zamek!!!
