    Rynek - the main square

by arantha Written Sep 23, 2006

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The main old town square is small, but very nice and what is interesting and unique, it's slanted. The tenement-houses date for the 16th and 17th centuries, but have been rebuilt in the 19th century.
It's nice to just seat there in a sunny day, enjoying a beer, looking at some children feeding pigeons :)

    Uniate Cathedral

by arantha Written Sep 23, 2006

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The cathedral was built in the 17th century as a Jesuit church. However, because of the fact that the Greek Orthodox believers didn't have in Przemysl any place of worship, in 1991 pope John Paul II decided to donate it to a Greek Catholic population and it has been converted into an orthodox church afterwards.

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Castle-and-Park Complex in Krasiczyn, located in south-eastern Poland, just 10 km from the historical town of Przemysl.

It is one of the most beautiful monuments of the Polish Renaissance. Its construction was begun in 1580 by Stanis³aw Krasicki. He named the castle derived from his name. The small town that developed next to the castle took the same name. Despite a great many fires and wars, the castle has been preserved in practically unchanged outside shape from the 17th century.
Among the castle's most valuable architectural elements is the chapel in the Divine Tower, often compared to the Zygmunt Chapel at Wawel Castle in Kraków.

Not a good photo of the castle I'm afraid - too many trees around!

Not a great deal to see at the castle, but if you make the walk up the winding streets to get there, it does give you a fine view over the river and surrounding area.
