Przemysl Transportation

Marshrutka is a minibus taxi operating the route to the Ukrainian border in Medyka (0,5 zl = 0,125 Euro; 15 min to the border). From there you can take another Marshrutka to Lviv (6 zl = 1,5 Euro; 1,5h). It can be a very cheap way of traveling!

The other way to travel to/from Przemysl is a bus/coach. It operates both domestic and foreign routes (mainly Ukraine). For example you can get to Lviv for only 20 zl (5 Euro).

Przemysl rail station has services to the most of Poland and a couple to Ukraine. The train to Lviv Ukraine arrives at unsocial hours, it is better to travel by bus. The bus leaves Przemysl bus station at the back of rail station direct to Lviv. Another mode of travel is take a mini bus to border, walk across to Ukraine side then another mini bus to Lviv. All three kinds of travel have the hassle of border control. In March 09 i went by bus it took 55 minutes to get through the formalities , the driver gave me an immigration form at the start, name, passport number,reason for going, hotel [if you dont have booking just put name of an hotel), there were only 8 passengers on bus. The bus i travelled on arrived in Lviv at the bus station out of town , i should think about 5km, in a scruffy area, so took a taxi to my hotel. The taxi driver gave me a price of 50 UAH (£4) Make sure you have small unit notes on arrival. By the way the bus to Lviv took just over 3 hours and cost 25 zloty (£5). The taxi ride, i thought i was in th Grand Prix avoiding the potholes in road.

Przemysl it's an important junction, joining Ukraine, Hungary and major Polish cities. The best way to travel to/from Przemysl is train. You can check the timetable here
