We were in Pultusk to do some genealogy research - to use the town as a base of operations to visit ancestral town north of there. While there, we visited the archives. Technically they were closed between Juy 11 and Aug 11 2006 but when we went in, they were more than helpful. The director speaks some English and for 65 zloty they would do a search for your ancestor if you knew their birth town/date and either mail it to you or come back in a few days. For twice the price they will do it in a coupe of hours. The building is not easy to find. It's a few blocks in back of the bus station and the entrance is in the back, so very decptive.

What is the most beautiful in the town is the nature. Pultusk has great landscapes, fresh air and peace. A lot of Warsawers go to Pultusk to spend their weekends. Some of them has even their houses here. This is also an ideal place to go fishing. I have never seen such a big number of fishermen. The best time to observe them is in the early morning and in the evening near the bridge from the town to Poplawy.

Everyday (except Sunday) there is a market where you can buy food, cloths, sweets etc. Moreover, there are also a couple craft fairs during the year which take place on the main market squere or in Polonia House gardens.

You can observe storks in Pultusk. Every year some of them come to spend their summer holiday as they have an ideal place here. When there is a "high time" of frogs you will hear frogs everywhere. Storks won't eat all frogs, you can try them too.:)
Moreover, you have an opportunity to meet beavers here. These animals are rear but in Narew river I have them already few times. As an evidence of their existance are fallen trees. What to write and say more...?:)

St St Peter and Paul's Church is also called the school church (probably because it is close to the secondary school). In fact, there is not a lot to see inside the church and usually it is closed.
