We were in Pultusk to do some genealogy research - to use the town as a base of operations to visit ancestral town north of there. While there, we visited the archives. Technically they were closed between Juy 11 and Aug 11 2006 but when we went in, they were more than helpful. The director speaks some English and for 65 zloty they would do a...more

Most of bars and pubs are closed before midnight. From time to time there is a student disco in students' pub in 17 Daszynskiego Street, near the bus station. Besides, Pultusk is pieceful at night and most of students play in their own houses.
The best way to get to Pultusk is by car or by bus. Pultusk is situated near the way to lakes of Mazury.
Buses are going from Warszawa Zachodnia (East Warsaw) bus station. They run very often, usually every 20 minutes from platform 1. You can take a bus going to: Ostorleka, Ciechanow, Mragowo, Ketrzyn, Pisz. The trip takes about 1.5 hour.
You cannot get to Pultusk by train, sorry.:)
Pultust, for sure, is not a shop paradise! Most of the town's population go to shop to Warsaw. However, there are some big supermarkets where you can buy food and everyday things. Cloths, shooes and some other things you can buy in a neighbourhood of market square, mainly in Swietojanska Street.
What to pay: Usually supermarkets accept credit cards.
On weekends, especially when there is so called `long weekend` when most people have severals days free of work, Warsaw is becoming empty and some of citizens of the capital visit Pultusk. It is tredny to have a cottage here or in other towns North of Warsaw...
It is even possible to find an advertisment of Pultusk in the centre of Warsaw (in the photo).

In the morning and in the eveing it is even sometimes not possible to enter the forests..more
